Sibiu is one of the most beautiful cities in the Romamia. It has the best preserved historical sites in the country, numerous museums and exhibitions, proximity to the stunning Fa(ga(ras, mountains, for which reasons it became the 2007 European Capital of Culture. The city's historical center has been recently renovated (in 2006)
Sibiu is one of Romania's cultural and tourism capitals, attracting tourists due to its wonderful medieval charm, excellent views of the surrounding landscapes, great food, and stunning parkland.

Travel to Sibiu
By plane: If you're not coming to Sibiu from another Romanian town, plane is an excellent option, as there are direct connections to Sibiu International Airport from many European cities, especially those in Germany and Italy. Carpatair, Transylvania's largest airline, offers daily connections to Munich, Bergamo and Treviso, and connections three times a week to Bologna, Verona, Rome and Stuttgart. TAROM, Romania's national carrier, as well as LUFTHANSA flies five times a week from Sibiu to Munich and also five times a week to Vienna. Blue Air also flies direct low cost flights to Cologne, Stuttgart and Madrid.

By bus: Sibiu is well connected to Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. From Cluj-Napoca there are buses almost every hour.

By train: Despite Sibiu's location in the center of the Romania, it is not very easy to get there by train. Sibiu is located outside the main railway line which joins Bucharest to Hungary and beyond. However, train remains the easiest, cheapest and most comfortable way to get here. From Bucharest, there are just two trains daily to Sibiu (one in the morning, one in the night). Also, Sibiu is one of the only cities of Romania not served by the modern InterCity network from Bucharest.

In order to help visitors enjoy their stay in Sibiu, we have available a number of self-catering apartments close to and around the city centre. For a relatively modest fee, you can stay at any of our self-contained and well-furnished apartments from periods ranging from just a day to several weeks - as the fancy catches you.

Our apartments cater for numbers ranging from single visitors up to groups of seven. All you need to do is search for suitable and available properties (see the reservation box on the left), select and book an apartment, and our representative will be waiting for you at the apartment with the keys to the door.
